Settle Into Fall ~ September 22nd 6-7:30pm
A Restorative Yoga & Intention-Setting Workshop

I grew up honoring the fall equinox with my dad and it continues to be an important moment in the year — a brief, beautiful pause when day and night stand equal before the darkness begins to grow. Nature is releasing, composting, drawing her energy down into the roots. And we are invited to do the same. It is an important time to reflect and a potent time to set intentions.

In this workshop, we'll use restorative yoga to soften and open the body, letting go of whatever summer asked of us. The workshop will begin with the restorative yoga and flow into a meditation leading you towards a seasonal intention. We’ll close with guided journaling through thoughtfully created prompts to deepen your intention for the months ahead. You will also receive a take-home handout with practices that support health and well-being during the seasonal transition to autumn.

New to restorative yoga? It is a more passive, meditative form of yoga that helps release tension through gentle poses supported with props held for five minutes or more. This practice allows for a deeper focus on the breath and full body rejuvenation.

No prior experience necessary for this workshop. Come as you are. Bring yourself, your journal (I will have paper for anyone who doesn’t have a journal), a willingness to slow down, and curiosity about what the coming season is inviting you to explore.

Pricing

The workshop is $50. I take cash, check, or Venmo. With only ten spots available, registration for this event requires payment in advance. To prepay through Venmo, send payments to @Elizabeth-Bertram or email Betsy at Elizabeth.bertram1@gmail.com to arrange cash or check payment. I believe in this work being accessible - contact me if price is a barrier to learn more about scholarship opportunities.

Location

Craving Art Studio (121 Craven Street) Learn more about Heather Sink and Craving Art below.

Much gratitude to Heather Sink, owner of the Craving Art Studio for hosting us!

Heather, a native of Britain, was fortunate to end up in the coastal town of Beaufort with her husband. After teaching art to students in the North Carolina public schools for many years and raising two children she decided to focus on her own art work.

Heather belonged to two Plein Air groups in England and has continued to paint her surroundings in the many places she has lived. Fortunately, the coastal light and area offer an abundance of subject matter to paint. She loves learning and takes workshops from artists that inspire her.

Heather loves to teach and work with other artists. Her desire to create and connect with the community has made Craving Art Studio a wonderful studio to work and share her love of art with others.
